The Master

The true Master is non-corporeal in nature. Although teachings of the Master are conveyed to those who wait upon it, the most appropriate message is the one found through direct experience. Passing beyond images, names and intermediaries the Master directly experienced teaches all.

This does not negate wisdom espoused from others – simply that the direct experience of truth negates all teachings.

Masks of the Master

The Master is unique to each, yet one with all. Seekers have created masks for the Master to wear, and the Master works with the requirements of those who seek truth. Therefore the Master is Buddha to some, Jesus to others, Hecate to a pagan, Lucifer to a Luciferian, and nature to those that seek wisdom in nature. As seekers invoke these beings by their names, the identity that guides those masks is the force behind everything. We are drawn to what we need: an image of compassion in Jesus or Buddha, an image of empowerment in Hecate, an image of individuality in Lucifer, an image of life in nature. A modernist could color the Master in the shades of science fiction (Sith or Jedi), creating a modern myth equally empowered by the secret force within us. In the end, however, these paths are limited. They progress only as far as one’s belief boundary expands. To go beyond all limitation of belief, and directly experience truth, we need to find something bigger – the force behind all religious tapestries and masks.

The Master is the force that is within each seeker. Within each of us is a Master. Not yet ready to see things as they fully are, we wrap the Master in images, names, dogma and identity that are comfortable or useful for us. Religion itself adds an entire tapestry to the Master. The more defined the ritual, dogma and belief, the more effective it is to program our mental sphere into receiving a spiritual experience. In this way, if you have ever been (or currently are) a follower of a faith, then the Master has already been witnessed, albeit in a mask of your choosing. Images invoked are limited to the boundaries of the dogma and faith. The Master has much more to give than what is described in a single religion or spiritual society – thus the reason to go beyond the images and masks we have previously worshiped.

The Master is the pure teacher within you, but the message is tampered with in order to glimpse it. As a human mind may not yet be purified to see the clear message, the message comes through in images and ideas we can grasp. It becomes wrapped in a message for a teacher. prophet or aspirant to expound upon. A religion forms around the simple ideas given to the originating teacher. The religion furthers tampers with the message into rules the masses can easily understand. Religious messages are then further tampered with to fit the needs of the times, and often these are no-longer spiritual at all but political. Consider ancient Christianity, which started with a message from Jesus. Let’s examine one teaching of Jesus: “I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. No man comes unto the Father but by me.” (John 14:6) A human faith would easily transform those words into literalism, thinking that the name “Jesus” and the image of a man, is the only way to God (rather than the words coming from the Master within Him). For the mystic, the one going beyond, they would see that the man named Jesus sacrificed his human personality in the desert of temptation and became the realized being (God in man). The inner Master or Holy Spirit became one with Him and spoke through Him. However, a religion won’t think like that, a religion will organize around the teachings to establish control. Rome contaminated the Christian faith by growing an army of Christians to wage war on others (a message contradictory to the message of Jesus). As Christianity ages, the image of “Jesus” is further tampered to become a white male, representing the peoples of Europe, creating racial bias. Christians became pawns of governments who used their mass as a power to conquer the world. Today, Christian churches tell their members how to vote and contaminate the message by holding hands with politicians and the rich – no longer does the church resemble the original teachings, something predicted by Jesus. Like a game of telephone, the message is lost over time to become a tool of control and manipulation. This pattern has occurred to almost every religion of the world.

Masks that we attribute to the Master, are not just in the symbol of a wise person or prophet. Those human intermediaries also interfaced with a mask of the Master. It is as the though Master rendered itself to the prophet or teacher. The message was unique to each, and sometimes the message was contaminated with humane ego. At other times in human history, the message was clear and unobstructed. Regardless, the message was to an individual, who expressed it to a wider audience. Typically, the audience was not primed to find their own inner truth, but to obey rules and laws needed by the audience of the human teacher. At times, the audience was originally told to seek the “kingdom of God” within us, but the message was lost in the formation of orthodox religion.

21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’

Matthew 7:21-23

Discovery of the Master

The Master is discovered through the desire and patience of the aspirant, the seeker. It takes dedication and patience. One must prepare their heart, and sacrifice elements in their life that hinder realization. Sacrifice today has a negative connotation, but the root words combine to mean: “To Make Holy.” A sacrifice is an offering of something carnal to become something Holy. What a person needs to let go of, is unique to the individual, and unique to a specific time of the individual. For one, they may need to let go of music that makes them angry, or depressed. The same music may not affect another, but another might need to let go of watching the news. Another might need to let go of sexual desire that constantly distracts from the spiritual path. Whatever takes our attention away from the spiritual path is a potential candidate to let go of.

To know what to let go of, we at first use our human reason. If we discover that drinking coffee, makes us nervous and agitated and more prone to outbursts – let it got. If our human intelligence discovers that drinking alcohol causes agitation or laziness, let it go. However, the more subtle sacrifices are found in deep contemplation (meditation) or through direct experience of the Master.

To discover the inner voice of the Master, it is vital the ego personality is quieted. The ego is a persistent problem. It will try and get in the way of the message of the Master, in order to answer the questions of the seeker. We can see this in action: if you were to close your eyes and ask yourself a question, the ego will give you an immediate answer. This isn’t the voice of the Master, it is the mental response of the brain attempting to solve a problem. The Master is the non-corporeal essence beyond human reasoning, witnessing from a much greater vantage point. To seek the Master is to find answers beyond the human brain and psychology. Removing the ego from the process is tricky. The simplest way would be to meditate in such a way that the ego personality becomes silenced. There are many meditation techniques to achieve this. For some, the observance of the breath works well. For others, it is being mindful of the sounds happening in present moment. For others it is a visual meditation of mentally focusing on an image held in the mind’s eye.

As the ego becomes silenced, in the space of silence, we issue our feeling for the Master. It is not with words, but with desire. The field of that desire calls the Master to us. It can take a day, a month, a lifetime. Patience is the key.

My Personal Experience

My direct experience of the Master came after years of seeking truth. I was raised in a Christian home, my father a minister. When I became an adult, I studied Buddhism and became a Buddhist. After Buddhism, I followed a “Western Mystery School” of occultism. Then I joined several other spiritual societies. I became a Scientologist for awhile. After that I followed the teachings of the Hindu guru Paramhansa Yogananda. After that I studied esoteric Christianity, Rosicrucianism, Taoism, modern gurus and even Left Hand Path philosophy. But in 2020, something amazing occurred: I connected with the Master within.

All paths had usefulness for me, but these paths also were limited to specific dogma, philosophy and ideology. I had to learn, through experience, that each religion and group I joined was controlling to some degree. They set their dogma, their beliefs and if you didn’t agree, you start to get repercussions.

Living with the Master is often an isolated experience. It’s hard to belong to a group that has boundaries of belief, and your inner Master does not. They may restrict your diet, your gifts/giving, or make demands on your time and your inner Master will reject those boundaries and go beyond.

A year after meeting my inner Master, I felt alone and isolated and I reached out to a group of Rosicrucians (The Golden Rosycross), who sought personal Gnosis. Gnosis, being wisdom and personal Gnosis a reference to inner wisdom, I thought they would be a perfect fit. In time, I found they were as manipulative and controlling as other religions and groups I belonged to in the past. As it turned out, even though they claimed to not follow dogma, they did follow the teachings of the founder from the 1950’s. They expected others to follow and believe these teachings, even when they went against my personal Gnosis from the inner Master. In time, I had no option but to exit. This is the problem with groups. They tend to identify a radius of belief, and if you go beyond that radius, you are treated as someone in error.

My Process

How I specifically found my inner Master (and your path will likely be different), was through a set of steps. I needed to cut ties with those elements that were clouding my vision. Those specific belief systems were dealt with, and disconnected from. From isolation the mind was calmed. Each day I waited upon (what I called at the time, the Higher Self). Specifically, I faced a wall, letting my gaze relax and my mind calm. At the same time I built up a strong feeling or appeal to find this “Higher Self.” Many months went by, then I had a direct experience:

On October 16, 2020, I made contact with the Master. This inner thought, very different from my ego personality, came through to me and said:

“May I give you some advice? And would you take it?”

From there it began to relate to me different truths that I needed at that time. My relationship to the Master continues to this day.

To summarize: I needed to seek truth in different dogmas at first. I needed the structure of religion and the idea of doing what is told. However, I also began to feel that there was a deeper truth than any one religion was aware of. That ultimately led me to let go of the past religions, so that I could find the truth without the influence of the past.

When the Master appeared, it was subtle. While I had paranormal experiences in other spiritual practices of the past, the greatest gain was in the subtle inner voice of guidance – the Master. That relationship with the Master remains with me to this day.

Each person has their own path, their own set of steps they will need to do in order to discover the Master. Patience and desired determination are key.
